Why Hats, Why Me
I've been making things with yarn since I was a kid. Hats have always been a favorite of mine — they don't take much yarn, they come together fast, and there are endless styles to try. The Hat Formula grew straight out of that: years of making hat after hat, until the pattern behind all of them became obvious enough to teach.
Hats have always felt personal to me for another reason, too. They're often the first thing someone makes for a person going through something hard — a new baby, a friend losing their hair to chemo, someone just needing to feel a little warmer and a little less alone. I want The Hat Formula to make that easier, too: so making a hat for someone who needs one is never held up by not knowing how.
